THE GHOST IN THE MACHINE: How your mindset determines your success and what to do about it

“We can do better”

– John F. Kennedy

There really is biology behind your beliefs.  The great news is that you can change your brain and your beliefs to have whatever level of success you desire.  The bad news is that your mindset can really hold you back, hold you down, and put a low ceiling on your life or practice if you don’t WIN THE WAR ON YOUR MIND.  Let us help you break through what is certainly a glass or even a paper ceiling.

MRIs and the EEGs show us, our brain machine is wired to generate behavior and response to the environmental stimuli we encounter.  For instance:

  • If we come across a jelly donut, our prefrontal cortex plays a major role in the strategic decision for whether or note the organism should consume it.
  • If we see a picture and we fire off the occipital, visual portion of our brain.  If it is a sad picture or one that challenges our beliefs, the amygdala kicks in as it responds to emotion, threats, and the subsequent decisions we will make in response.

While the above facts make us seem like mere machines, we are not simply robots doing what our mental equipment or personality tell us to do.  There is also what Philosopher Gilbert Ryle referred to as, “The ghost in the machine.”  While the brain’s wiring pushes out a response, you also contain the ability to think these responses and choose.  As human beings, you do not have to do something dumb, behave in a destructive manner, or fall short of your goals just because it is programmed in.

Victor Frankl, the Holocaust survivor and author of the perennial best-selling book, “Man’s Search for Meaning,” found that we have to be living the story of our dreams or we create pain and literally fracture our psyche.  As humans, Dr. Frankl found that we require a “freedom to will.”

He described freedom as the ability to shape your life.  He found we not only needed to be free, but free to something or what he called, “Will to meaning.”  We need to be able to achieve our desired goals, purposes, and find meaning in our lives.  His work called Logotherapy acknowledges that life is not some illusion that arises from a bunch of neurons and chemicals colliding together, but something worth experiencing to its fullest extent.

If freedom of will, will to meaning, or life itself is limited, we become stressed, depressed, or even hopeless and lost.

In the webinar, WINNING THE WAR ON YOUR MIND, we can show you a path to creating a mind-set of success specific to chiropractors and anyone looking to heal and transform the lives of others.  The concept of a winning mind means breaking through any limiting beliefs or unconscious ceilings you’ve placed on your goals and self-worth so you can maximize your net-worth.

Dr. Rob Schiffman and I have adjusted a combined 5,000 a week and my 5 clinics have combined to adjust 15,000 a month.  You don’t have to shoot that high, but if this seems impossible than you may be in need of a mindset shift.  DON’T MISS THE FIRST WEBINAR, WINNING THE WAR ON YOUR MIND!
