BEING THE COMPANY DOCTOR
Outside of retirees and the guy you don’t want your daughter to marry, most every adult has a j-o-b. So, if the goal is to reach the community and save more lives – effectively working with companies is a big deal.
Most of the current corporate wellness programs really just do lab testing and send you to the doctor. Alternatively, you actually work with employees one on one to get them authentically well and prevent future illness and injury that negatively impacts their work.
There’s an urgency to this as well. If people go to home, work, church, etc. and their direct circle of influence don’t know about you and your care – the chance of a patient retaining is very small.
In case you do not know by now, for big companies, health care is where they bleed the most money. What you may not have considered is that for any size company, 2 employees to millions – conscious managers know that sick days, low energy, poor health, and pain and injury radically impact performance, the ability of the company to thrive, grow, or sustain itself, and profit.
Thus, whether you’re a large, medium, small, or mom and pop company — an employee wellness program creates huge value. Especially in a day and age where it’s become clear that employee satisfaction and being one of the top companies to work for is THE KEY to success.
Important thoughts. Employee wellness is not a lunch and learn. You want to create cutting edge programs that will stand out from your competitors designed for a long-term relationship. The attack and pillage approach with no long-term relationship is hardly effective and does not allow for the actual prevailing wellness of the people in the organizations you serve. Additionally, just doing a talk doesn’t give you the new patient sustainability you need month after month and year after year.
Really, businesses don’t need another plan – they need a committed doctor-leader who is equipped with the right tools and plans to carry their people and their company to the next level and beyond.
While getting a talk is better than the alternative, if you really want to make an impact and really help sustain people’s lives and your practice – go for the whole thing; a year-round plan of education, training, and care.
LAST IMPORTANT POINT:
The ROI on Corp wellness for the businesses you deal with is directly related to the percent of people that do it. This is our specialty. You can take this off their hands as usually the person in charge of employee health and satisfaction isn’t equipped and has already too much on their plate.
Have fun saving the world!
