Is Old Age Creeping Up On You? No, Guess Again…it is Something Else

Aging Healthy

“Is forty the new thirty?” Oh wait, it is now, “is fifty the new twenty?” Have you heard this?

Don’t get caught up believing that old age is creeping up on you. We are programmed as young children to think – when we get a certain age, things will start to go and things will ache. “Mommy, why is that man walking like that?” “Because he is old sweetie” – and yet, he is in his 40s.

As people age, they start expecting to slow down. Some people in their twenties and early thirties believe that their knee pain, back pain and sleeping troubles are “normal” signs of aging, and then they stop exercising because of the pain…or that’s their excuse. This is what they expect because of what they’ve experienced, or done to themselves, in the past. These expectations are all a big, fat, hairy lie.

The truth is that aging doesn’t have to mean getting old. There are tens of thousands of occasions when people, who believed they were stuck with a condition of old age, just need to change their diet.

So many people on a low-fat high-carb diet stop exercising because of the pain in their knees, feet, or whatever the pain may be. As long as they eat healthy, they can play sports with the kids again, workout, sleep, go running, or – at the very least – run out of excuses.

So, aging is not only about time. “Premature” aging is caused by chronic inflammation, oxidation, and other biomarkers for bodily stress. They say that “Age ain’t nothin’ but a number” and it is true – but only if you take the proactive steps to curb carbs and improve the quality of your fat and protein sources. Carbs kill and they age the body. Carbs are not our friends, whether it’s from eating straight-up white sugar, natural sweeteners like honey and maple syrup, or from whole or refined grains. The end-products created by any of these carbs have a hand in aging by making your body’s cells stiffer and less responsive. It can cause many diseases, such as kidney disease, atherosclerosis, dementia, caner, erectile dysfunction, eye disease and other conditions.

It takes time to change your eating habits and lifestyle. So, do not get frustrated when you think you will never get there. Focus on how great your body will feel and all the wonderful foods you GET to eat, instead of focusing on which foods you don’t get to eat.

In the FREE book “Winning the Inside Battle of Wellness”, there are many practices for gaining a healthier lifestyle and habit changing techniques. To help with what to eat, there are many recipes; including breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks and desserts.
