The benefits of these fats are astonishing! The benefits have surprised doctors on how well fats can heal the body. Now it has been proven that these fats are essential to our health. Since our bodies do not produce them on it’s own, we must get fats into our daily diets. Fats help our bodies processes to operate correctly, and help vitamins absorb into your body and cells. Now let’s look at some other benefits.
Fats Fight Against Disease – Recent studies have proven that these fats help improve Alzheimer’s disease, lower the risk of a heart attack as well as many types of cancers. They also help decrease inflammation and lower insulin levels.
Benefits Cholesterol Levels – But wait, doesn’t fat raise your cholesterol? Yes, but the good cholesterol. Not only do fats raise the good cholesterol, but it helps lower the bad. It’s a Win WIN!
Great for Athletes and Being Active – Fats are known to strengthen athletic performance and boost energy levels. They support hormone balance and help recover from intense exercise and inhibits muscle breakdown. Fats improve your metabolism and benefit weight loss.
Diminishes Sugar Cravings – Are you a sugar addict? Did you know healthy fats will illuminate sugar cravings? Fats reduce hunger and keeps you from eating foods not needed, like those little handy doughnut holes at work.
Great for Skin – Healthy fats are great for supplying the building blocks for healthy skin cells and keeping the skin look young and healthy. In fact, a magnificent home remedy is coconut oil. It works as a great moisturizer for your skin. It is a habit of mine to use it as a lotion and take a little taste, which brings me to a story I have to tell. I was in an airport putting coconut oil on my face from a little travel container and I ate a little bit of the coconut oil. Then noticed a guy was watching me. Haha, I am sure he thought I was eating face cream. Little did he know, I was eating really healthy while he was scarfing down an over-processed cheese pizza.
So, before you think about boosting up our mid-day slump, remember to stick to healthy fats! There are many ways to get healthy fats into your diet. A popular recipe that could be used as a snack or meal is Chia Seed Pudding.
